Eligibility Requirements
The eligibility requirements for a Research Fellowship are:
- You have completed an undergraduate degree at a University or equivalent institution.
- You are a graduate student, probably in the latter stages of your research leading to a PhD or you are a post-doctoral researcher and have recently been awarded your PhD. Note that the term “PhD” used here should be taken to mean “PhD (or an equivalent degree)”.
- You have completed less than five years' full time research by 1 October 2024.
There is no formal limit on the time that will have elapsed between your obtaining a PhD and starting a Research Fellowship at Jesus College, but you should bear in mind that the College seeks to encourage scholars at the outset of their careers.
If an unusual amount of time has passed since you graduated for your first undergraduate degree or since beginning your research, you are unlikely to be considered unless there are strong mitigating circumstances, such as:- some of the research was done part-time
- other personal circumstances
If you feel you have strong mitigating circumstances, please complete the application form and the system will provide you with the facility to provide your explanation on the Eligibility Details page.
